My TCIA

Tree Awareness Inc has been a Tree Care Industry Association member for over twenty years. Through the years we have seen many changes . We have witnessed the growth of our industry , the development of curriculum, and a lot of mechanization . As much as this noble trade is about the care management of trees in a changing globe it is still first and foremost a people business. Building relationships and expanding our networks is how we increase reach, learn ,and grow. Well developed strategic alliances also help us serve our clients and our teams.

Over the years the TCIA has helped me greatly, in personal and professional development . I have attended about twenty five expos and five winter management conferences. The programs at these shows are quite good but above all is the ability to network with peers. My best friend in this industry and I have roomed together most of those years. I have made many lifelong friends from attending shows and having those “out in the hall “ talks that sometimes make you lose track of time. After sitting in educational seminars and keynote speeches for all these years ,this past fall the tables were turned. At TCIA expo in Pittsburg I was able to share as a speaker. The experience was amazing and fruitful . I am filled with gratitude because of it.

I have been balancing work and family life for twenty five years . A few years ago ,when i turned 50 , I began to feel a desire to share the struggles of that balance with others. I see younger people at the shows now and my beard is completely white. As things come full circle, I thought I simply must share what I know , as others have done with me. Included is a link to an article published in the Tree Care Industry magazine for March based on the presentation “its About Time.”

Please read and feel free to comment and share with friends.

With gratitude ,

Paul ~
