Wood with a second life.

We mill some of the wood we bring back from removal jobs into usable lumber — live-edge slabs, dimensional boards, horse-fence rails, posts, and trailer decking. Less waste. More in harmony.

Tree Awareness removes hundreds of trees a year across South Jersey. Some of the wood is good enough that throwing it in the chipper feels wrong. So we mill it.

The slabs and lumber on offer come from heritage oaks, hickories, walnuts, ashes, cherries, and maples we’ve worked on in the field. Air-dried, stickered, and stored in our yard. Inventory rotates as new pieces come off the mill.

If you’re building a table, a barn door, a fence, or a trailer deck — call. We’ll tell you what we have, what’s ready, and what’s still drying.

What we mill

Five categories. Same yard.

01 · Custom woodwork

Live-edge slabs

Hardwood slabs with the bark line intact — black walnut, sugar maple, red oak, cherry, ash, hickory. Sizes from 6′ to 11′ long, 12″–30″ wide. Built for tables, mantels, bar tops, headboards.

02 · Build & trim

Dimensional lumber

Four-quarter through eight-quarter boards in a range of widths. Air-dried hardwoods suitable for furniture, cabinetry, and millwork. Call for current dimensions and species in inventory.

03 · Farms & pastures

Horse fence rails

Rough-sawn locust, oak, and ash rails — the dimensions local horse properties actually use. Cut to length on request. We supply farms across Salem and Gloucester counties.

04 · Structural

4×4 posts

Heart-cut posts for fence, deck, pergola, and outbuilding work. Locust where available (rot-resistant), oak otherwise. Cut to standard 8′ lengths unless you ask for custom.

05 · Heavy duty

Trailer decking

Thick planks for trailer floors and equipment beds — the kind of wood that takes a hit and stays flat. Oak and locust, planed or rough. Replacing rotted decking is one of our most common lumber orders.

+ · Other

Specialty pieces

Stair treads, barn-board accent walls, smoking wood, raised-bed timbers, mantel pieces with character grain. If you have a project, ask — the yard rotates and we may have what you need.
