We help you determine the best tree or shrub to suit your needs. Soil type, sun exposure, available space, and yard aesthetic all factor into the recommendation.
Adding trees or shrubs to your property is a long-term decision. The wrong species in the wrong place leads to maintenance headaches and structural problems decades later. The right one becomes a heritage specimen.
Tree Awareness has been doing this work in South Jersey since 1993. The recommendations come from Paul Biester (NJ LTE #408) and our team — not from a sales rep at a nursery.
Most homeowners don’t know which tree is right for their yard — that’s normal. We figure it out together, walk the property, and get the right specimen in the right spot.
We come look at the property. Soil, drainage, sun exposure, available space, existing trees, what you want the new planting to do.
Based on what we observe, we recommend specific species that will thrive in your conditions. We’ll explain the trade-offs — growth rate, mature size, maintenance, seasonal interest.
We work with partnerships at local nurseries to source the recommended specimens. You get nursery-grade stock, not whatever’s in a parking-lot tent sale.
Proper planting methods. Right depth (no mulch volcanoes), proper root-flare exposure, correct staking only when needed, post-planting watering schedule. Done by people who care if the tree lives.
We work with local New Jersey nurseries to source quality nursery-grade specimens. The recommendation is ours; the supply chain is theirs — and we vet who we work with.
Larger specimens, specific cultivars, or unusual species may take a few weeks to source. We’ll tell you the timeline upfront when we make the recommendation.
Tell us what you’re thinking about — new tree, replacement for a removal, screening hedge, ornamental specimen — and we’ll set up a site visit. Pricing depends on species, size, and planting requirements.
