Terms & Conditions.

Last updated: May 20, 2026

When hiring Tree Awareness, Inc. — whether verbally or in writing — the following terms and conditions apply.

Tree Trimming — performed to ANSI A-300 Pruning Standards.

Crown Cleaning

Crown cleaning is the removal of dead, dying, diseased, crowded, and weakly attached branches from the crown. When pruning deadwood from trees, branches with 1.5″ caliper or greater will be removed.

Crown Thinning

Crown thinning is the selective removal of branches to increase light penetration and air movement through the crown of the tree.

Crown Raising

Crown raising is the removal of lower branches to allow clearance for buildings, vehicles, people, views, and the like.

Crown Reduction

Crown reduction is reducing the size, height, or spread of a tree by pruning back the leaders and branch terminals to lateral branches.

Tree Removal.

Tree removal does not include stump grinding unless noted as a separate line item on the proposal. Stumps will be cut as low as possible.

Stump Grinding (if included as a line item on the proposal).

As standard procedure, we will backfill the hole with the material created when grinding the stump. There may be a mound of chips where the stump used to be. This material can be hauled away at an additional cost.

Grinding of extending surface roots is not included in this estimate unless requested and specified in writing.

Stumps will be ground within 6 inches of any obstacles to limit the possibility of collateral damage to our equipment and your property.

Although great care is taken, we cannot be responsible for the following.

  • Minor lawn damage caused by trucks or trees/tree debris.
  • Repairing of lawn areas, when large equipment is needed, is not included in this quote. These services, should they be needed, can be provided at an additional cost per the customer’s request.
  • Damage to concrete or asphalt caused by our trucks and equipment while gaining access to your property.
  • Damage to concrete or asphalt in poor condition — i.e. cracked, thin, or improperly based prior to the start of the job.
  • Damage to utilities, septic systems, and wetlands not disclosed in writing prior to the start of the job.
  • Damage to invisible dog fences, landscape lighting, and irrigation systems not disclosed in writing and marked by the customer prior to the start of the job.
  • Any trees to be serviced with undisclosed concrete, metal, or any other foreign objects embedded in them will be subject to additional charges based on the additional measures necessary to complete the job.

Customer responsibilities and payment.

The customer is responsible for any necessary permits or permissions required to complete the job.

We will gladly accept coupons prior to starting the job.

Payment in full is due upon completion of work unless prior arrangements have been made in writing.

Customers will be responsible for any legal or service fees incurred in the collection of past-due payments.

Thank you in advance for your understanding.
