Less invasive, more in harmony — that’s how we work in Westville. Removal when removal is right, conservative pruning when it isn’t, and an honest answer either way.
Westville borough was incorporated in 1914. The 1.0 sq mi borough sits at the confluence of Big Timber Creek and the Delaware River — a unique waterway-edge position in Gloucester County. That waterway access shaped the borough’s historical industrial role and the residential canopy that grew up around it. Today Westville is mostly residential with the Crown Point Road corridor anchoring its civic identity. We’re pruning specialists first. When a tree must come down, we honor it — logs become firewood and milled slabs, nothing wasted. Less invasive, more in harmony.
the Delaware River edge and Delaware River conditions both factor into the work.
Crown Point Road corridor anchors the Delaware River edge. Bottomland trees here have different soil moisture and species mix than upland yard trees.
The Delaware-front blocks on Westville’s western edge face salt influence and corridor exposure.
Six services tuned to Westville’s specific tree conditions.

Sycamores, sweetgums, silver maples on the creek edge have different soil-moisture conditions than upland trees.
Properties on the Delaware-front face salt influence. Different species response.
Field-edge ash here needs a treatment plan or removal timeline.
Westville sits on the Delaware River with Big Timber Creek on its eastern edge. Most of its residential canopy was planted in the 1920s-1950s as the borough developed. River-corridor proximity means soft soil under many lots and shallow root anchorage on streamside trees. Six visible signs Paul looks for first when walking a Westville property.
Splits running up or down the main trunk indicate structural failure has begun.
Healthy trees shed bark slowly. Large patches falling away in a single season point to internal decline.
Mushroom conks at the base or running up the trunk are evidence of structural decay.
New leans, or worsening leans — especially after a storm — mean the root plate may be compromised.
Lightning-struck trees often show crown dieback within 12–18 months.
If your ash tree’s upper canopy is 30%+ thinned, the tree is past treatment threshold.

Excellent service. Professional staff. The service was top notch from start to finish. I was impressed with the office staff and field staff. Would highly recommend. You don’t find good contractors out there today. This company is one of the best!
— Jeff and Linda Pollock
Incredible work. I had a twenty to thirty foot white pine that was too close to the house along with four dead cedars, three of which had blown over from recent storms. The area is wide open and the only thing left is a nice pile of pine shavings from stump grinding. Tree Awareness has got it figured out; will use them again for sure.

Paul and Kevin are amazing. Paul came out right away and we walked the property to discuss what I wanted done. He took his time and really listened to what I was hoping to accomplish. He is very knowledgeable and understood what I wanted and made some great recommendations. I also really appreciated his honesty as he explained why some things that weren’t necessary or shouldn’t be done. He then offered other solutions which worked out great.. I appreciated his knowledge and understanding of my vision and what could be done to achieve it. The team has been out twice already to do the majority of the work and will be out one more time as there were quite a few trees that needed to come down and a lot of work on existing trees and bushes. They were prompt, courteous, and did a fabulous job of cleanup. Other than the trees that are gone, you wouldn’t know they were even here. That says something for their level of professionalism- I am looking forward to next year and the next phase of work on the property. Working with Kevin in the office has been great and Watching Paul and his team work has been nothing short of outstanding.

1–7 days typicalAlong Crown Point Road to the Delaware-front blocks, we cover every Westville address. Rooted in science and restraint — thirty years of fieldwork, TRAQ qualification, ANSI A300 pruning. Every recommendation is what we’d say if it were our own property.
Same standard here as everywhere else: understand the tree, keep what should stay, and when removal is the right call, do it well.
Streamside trees with shallow root plates. We climb and rig with that in mind — careful before we’re fast.
A block of trees we’ve walked many times. The work here is rarely dramatic — just the right cuts at the right time.
Mature street trees on this stretch. We know the species, the soil, and the storm patterns from working these blocks for years.
Wherever the borough line runs, we cover it. Same crew, same standard, same answer to the same question.
Floodplain trees move differently than upland ones. We plan rigging with the soft soil in mind.
